Assorted Bread from Johan Bakery II

My 2 cents worth of opinion from not-your-average kind of bread from Johan Bakery.

I forgot the actual names after I bought them =P, so I’ll just give them some generic names for now.

1. Apple bread (with apple tea?):

There were juicy apple bits spread out in the bread, something like what you will get in a apple pie. The bread is also infused with a sweet fruity apple scent.

2. Cherry & Cheese I:

Bread is buttery soft. Cheese in the middle and the cherries makes a nice combination – sweet and savoury. The streusel topping gives the bread a nice crunchy contrast.

3. Red Bean and Matcha Stick:

It’s like danish pastry but in a stick form. You get bits of red beans with a slight matcha fragrance in every bite. Best taken with a cup of your favorite coffee.

4. Cherry & Cheese II:

I can’t remember which one was the brioche. I think it’s the previous one (Bread number 2). This version of the bread tasted normal, and I think I could have attempted this myself. Given the same ingredients, I would prefer Cherry and Cheese I.

In conclusion, this would be my taste preferece: 1)Cherry & Cheese I 2)Apple Bread 3)Red Bean and Matcha Stick 4)Cherry & Cheese II

So, are these bread worth what they are worth?

If you are just living on bread and water to make up for everyday’s rising costs, I would suggest you go for a whole loaf of bread instead for the same price. However, if you do want to indulge (once in a while) and have some “me” time, go for it!

Alright, these were not made by me, though I wished they were.

The thought of becoming my own boss has been popping up lately and I thought I should try to see if it is feasible at all. Best if I can make my hobby <=> work and I shall never have to work a day, as the saying goes. I was exploring around, and this article briefly sums up if I can be my own boss. That about concludes my daydreaming in the 5 minutes I spent reading the article. =(  I have no F&B experience (which leaves me to wonder if I should have taken up temp jobs in the F&B industry during my younger days), no capital (An ice-cream shop is asking for $100k for takeover…oh well…), no strategy and no guide. And I don’t think passion can help pay the bills at the end of the day.

Guess I shall stick to home baking for now, but no harm in daydreaming once in a while.

Oh, and those bread are from Johan bakery. I wanted to find out if the bread is worth what it’s worth. More of that later.
